Ericsson DBC 4425 IP Phone beeping on Conference Calls

Hello

We have some Ericsson 4425 IP phones here which people wish to use for conference calls. However whenever a conference call is started the phone makes a beeping sound about every 15-20 seconds, like the sound you get when you have a call waiting on a mobile phone.

I have searched through the manual but cannot see how to stop this.

Anyone have any ideas?

it's actually the PBX that's making the beeping sound.
In most countries this is mandatory (privacy concerns).

you can change this behaviour through ASPAC 100:

PARNUM=100, PARVAL=D 1
0 No tones
1 Provide tone for normal conference
2 Provide tone for operator conference
4 Provide tone for normal intrusion
8 Provide tone for ACD intrusion

so you can turn this tone off but you must follow the laws of your country...

Could you explain a little bit more how do do this?

I'm not sure what you mean by ASPAC 100?

Is it the PARVAL value that needs to be changed?

let's say you want to supress normal conference tones:

ASPACARNUM=100,PARVAL=14;

supressing all tones:

ASPACARNUM=100,PARVAL=0;
