a few things before configuring, i am assuming this is the first time you have done this so please excuse any info below you may already know:
also for a test I normally always configure IP address manually on first extn !!
have you configured the IPU?? the address allocated is used as gatekeeper to phones??
Have you created IP extn directory numbers??
The IP phones must have the coprrect settings installed via the config file to work on the BP( default is always MD110)
store the files in a central ’Configuration Web Server’ this must be installed at the customer site, to start up every new
IP-telephone in the ASB 150 02 mode, with the latest boot and application image as well as with a defined set of display languages.
The ’Configuration Web Server’ may not necessarily be a dedicated server, the required files can also be installed on the customer’s Intranet Web-Server or on the BMS Server.
Thank You Very much for your guide.
I want to know whether it is possible to change the IP settings from Static to DHCP through Dialog 4425 telephone handset.
I was trying to do the same but it is asking for admin password.
you must enter admin mode to make changes,
C + * + 5 simultaneously
in order to use DHCP you need to configure field 43:
If you use ALEX there is a good explanation of this.
DHCP Server
A DHCP server is used for providing the IP-address, subnet mask and default gateway data to the IP telephones. This data is obtained via the DHCP standard fields (1 and 3).
The DHCP server can also be used to transmit vendor-specific information (043) to the IP-telephones. In case of the Dialog 3413/4425/4422, this is useful for the transmission of the IP-address of the ’Configuration Web Server’ and if this server resides outside the customer’s Intranet also for the proxy server’s IP address and the port number.
Syntax of the vendor specific information field (043) n i1 i2 i3 ..... T1 n1 d1 d2 ..... T2 n2 d1 d2 ..... T3 n d1 d2
n Length of the Vendor ID
ix Vendor ID string
Tx Vendor specific information tags (identifier)
nx Length of the data item
dx Data item string
All values have to be entered in HEX
Dialog 3413/4425/4422 settings in the vendor specific information field n The vendor ID ’Ericsson IP-Phone’ has 17 characters = HEX: 11
i1-i17 ’Ericsson IP-Phone’ = HEX: 45:72:69:63:73:73:6F:6E:20:49:50:2D:50:68:6F:6E:65
T1 01 (Tag 01 is used to define configuration Web Server’s IP address)
T2 02 (Tag 02 is used to define the proxy server’s IP-address)
T3 03 (used to define the port of the proxy server)
Example:
Central configuration server resides within the customer’s Intranet and has the IP-address 159.225.50.77
The IP-address has a total length of 13 characters n1= 0D HEX
The IP-address translated into HEX results in d1-d13= 31:35:39:2E:32:32:35:2E:35:30:2E:37:37
Total string HEX: 11:45:72:69:63:73:73:6F:6E:20:49:50:2D:50:68:6F:6E:65:01:0D:31:35:39:2E:32:32:35:2E:35:30:2E:37:37
normal practice is not to use passwords but this is defined in the system via BMS command 0701, there is no default used so i guess without connecting to the system you will be unable to find this out sorry
