Hi all,

I'm looking at a machine with a eri interface but I'm unable to query it using
ndd /dev/eri \?

tells me no match found, but ipconfig tells me it's eri interface.

I can query ndd /dev/tcp \?

I don't have any experience with the eri interfaces so where should I start looking ?
I'm not logged on a root user, but I should be able to read /dev/eri since I can read /dev/tcp no ?

Thanks!

Not necessarily. If you ls -lL /dev/tcp /dev/eri you will probably find the permissions are different.

Note also that not all network drivers support the ndd interface.

aah, but ofcourse, didn't think of that.
normally i have root rights...But not on this box.
Seems to be very slow in network access and I don't see any ndd config stuff in /etc/system which makes me believe it's link or link_partner are acting up

Thanks.

If you havn't locked the network card and your switch port to 100Mb FDX it will probably default to half duplex and run like a dog.
