I have a Newtwork of 8. With 1 Windows ME machine that all the other computers need access to. (the ME machine used to be a server for Internet acces over thin Lan.)
Switch to ethernet. and Hub senerio. All Computers Work on accessing WIN ME hard drive and infomation.
Put DSL on HUB. DSL Modem is set as DHCP Host.
Now I think The WIN ME. used to be set to be a DHCP Host! so the computers would acces the internet without Static Ip's.
I think the Modem and the WIN ME box are fighting as HOSTS and therefore the eratic IP adresses and Internet access!
I am going to take out the second Network card and see if I can find the ICS host option in WIN ME.
But if anyone could help that would be great!
