Erase tool not working

I don't know what I did but my erase tool (PS7) doesn't work anymore when I have it in brush mode. Pencil and block mode seem to work fine. I tried reseting the brushes and the tool but it still didn't work.

Anyone know how I can get the brush mode of the erase tool to work?

Hi,

In the options palette at the top (WINDOW > OPTIONS) make sure the eraser is set to BRUSH and 100% opacity. And you might toggle the CAPSLOCK if you can't see your cursor.

Also on the options palette at the top make sure the checkbox for "Erase to History" is unchecked.

And also double check you are on the correct layer or that the layer is not locked in any way. On the layers palette there are 4 buttons above the top layer, make sure the lock, or transparency lock are not on.
