I've looked at the FAQs for clearing the NVRAM on FRADs and the procedure kinda works for an ERAD. However, once the ERAD is powered down the password is not retained and I have to go through the procedure again. Is there a way to prevent this? I've noticed also that the minimum password length it will accept is 8 characters. Anyone know of (or better still able to forward me) a firmware load that will change this behaviour or am I barking up the wrong tree.

TIA

John

woof...woof. You cannot shorten the password length. After a reset, the rad shouldn't retain the old password so all is good. Either that or I'm misunderstanding what you're asking.

Forget about anything that is said from Engineers who use the Norstar FastRads!. The UK E-Rads differ in that they must have a passcode which requires both Letters & Numbers, Unlike the FastRads which just uses Numbers.
The best way to reset a E-Rad, is to "Downgrade" the E-Rad by using the North American "Fastrad.zip" file. This should include the "Upgrade.exe" program.
By following this method, you can then use the NRU software & not worry about having to reset the E-Rad everytime a power cut occurs.
The other thing is that you can now enter in digits & that Letters won't be needed anymore!.

Don't suppose you've got access to this magic file by any chance?

Hello "muttsnuts".
It just so happens that I do have the required file & other goodies. However this forum does not like the use of email address's.
If you can give me a contact number, I'll see what I can do to help you.
