Hello all. We will be running cat5e cabling to enclosed server racks. These racks are 7' high and 36" deep. There will be 6 rows of 4 cabinets per row (total or 24 cabinets). My question is, what is the standard distance that is supposed to be between each row? Thanks...

I'm not at the office right now, but I think we have 2 rows of raised floor tiles between the rows of equipment frames.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

These racks are 7' high and 36" deep."

So you would need a minimum of 4 feet between the racks. That way you could get a 36" piece of equipment out with 6" per side free space.

Starting on page 16.

This is a link to APC. Their is a free download in here for "data center design. " It says it includes floor plans so this may be of some help to you.

Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something.
