Hi,
I have a CS1000 at my location A, and a BCM 200 Rel 3.7 2.4f at loc B. I have a softphone connected to loc B. I am able to make calls from A to B, but when i try from the softphone, i get equip congest. the cause on bcm monitor shows resource unavailable. i am also unable to connect using element manager, BCM detector not found.
would appreciate any help.
H323 links are used.

thanks.

I have seen this only once before, but it was in a scenario where the BCM was connected to the pstn.

The equip congest message came back from the network, and after looking in the UIP tab, it indicated Network Congestion external to the user.
After passing this to the network provider, they sorted out the problem.

Make sure the payload size is the same for the trunks and IP sets.

I am using 48 of 48 IP clients, with the softphone being the last one. I forgot to mention that we have a second BCM at loc B linked to the first one through the H323. Only a few extensions are configured on this BCM.
Where do I check the payload size? Under services-ip telephony-ip terminals-nortel IP terminals. the payload sizes for all three are the same now 30.

I have changed the payload sizes on the BCM to 20 for the 729 and 711. still the same message equip congest. we have a 4 MB leased line between the locations, and calls from A to B work fine.

Thank you AC2. It was the payload size setting under IP trunks. It worked when i changed to 20.

Thanks AC2 and tnphoneman. Can you tell me how this fixed it? What was causing the problem?

With the settings the way they were you were trying to put 15 pounds of apples in a 10 lb bag.

The call was requested to be set up with a payload size of 30 the far end said no way that is too big for me to handle. You could call one way but not the other because the requested size was smaller than what it could handle so the call would go through.
