Hello,

Does someone know how I could find a list of mathematical equations that have the ability to produce either complex geometrical shapes or movements and that I could use within Flash to output interesting animations?

Thanks a lot to the ones who will respond !

look into non linear dynamics...flash can produce simple fractals

at its simplest such equations look like

X2 = yX1(1-X1)

where X1 is some starting value...calculate X2 feed that back in as X1 and so on....very different results can be obtained for different y

these simple equations are very easy to graph in flash and give astonishinly different results for small changes in y

maybe just an idea of a place to start

Hello Billwatson,

Thanks a lot for this starting point.

But at the same time, I'm still interested in a sort of database of useable equations.

If someone can hear me ... ;)

Have a nice day !
