Hi Guys,
I need help. I do IT work (Networking, hardware, software, servers). I don't have any experience with Micros 3700/ Epson TM-U220 Nor Does my Business partner. My friend/owner of where the problem does have experince and has Computer science degree as well. Here is short story.
This issue leads into printer issue
Yesterday we had a issue with pos system not connecting to the internet to process credit cards (CC). We were forced force CC. Ultimately Our Verizon Fios Router went down and was replaced. After replacing and putting the static IP info in the verizon router, our Micros could not connect to internet still. We narrowed it down to Verizon router not being a true bridge. Also that verizon doesn't allow nat to nat because they probable to prevent another router to access the network for security reason. WE had this similar issue another client who does financial work. We temporary fixed the micros and got it back on the internet for now on another device. This happen at there other location as well today with verizon fios but no printer issues there. We had to neatgear firewall fs308 I had laying around because it the other routers where being blocked. We are in process of revamping the network because of said issue. After fixing the network our Pizza Printer tm-u220 connected to IDN 1 and to the router was not working. It say it has a connectivity issue with pizza printer and is redirecting it to kitchen printer.
What we did to try to do fix it with no success.
1. We switched pizza printer with Kitchen Printer. The Pizza printer worked in the kitchen but Kitchen printer work
2. The owner looked at micros programming and saw nothing alarming
3. we tested and toned out wire. They are fine. Were getting internet as well as I connected my laptop to the line.
4. Plugged printer directly into our router.
5. made another IDN To Cat5e cable.
6. Ran a self test on printer.
7. Ran a Diagnostic on printer. Came back with "loopback with testplug: fail". What is that error? What Causes it?
8. Changed dip switch setting from 4 being on to 3 being on for idn 2 port.
Not sure if something with netgear and or Verizon router or something with Micros settings. All our other printers work that are attached to pos or standalone connected via IDN. Looking to see if anyone can give us some guidance/tips
Thanks
Smith
