Epson tm-p60 wifi problem

Is there a trick to making these work or are they just poor. I have 3 of them and check fails to print about 50 percent of the time.

Micros 3700 res 4.9. Using them with their rugged tablets. Wifi range sees fine for the tablets but the printers are horrible
