I have a problem with Epson Stylus Color printer.
The error message is the following:
" A communication error has occured. Click OK and then check the interface cable type, all cable connections and make sure thet all devices are on. If the error persist, unplug."

The printer was verified on the another computer with its cable and it works. Could be the port damaged ? Must I try to uninstall & reinstall the printer ?

Howdy,

I think uninstalling and reinstalling would be a good start. I have, however, seen Epson's Monitoring Utility do this before. Does the printer still work ?
If it does, and reinstalling the software doesn't fix it then your best bet would probably be to turn the monitoring off.

Hope this helps

poss port damaged but more likely not properly configured. Try removing port in dvc mgr, reboot to bios and verify port configured per printer doc. More than likely should be configured ECP but might try bidirectional
