Hi,

We have just installed a new Epson Stylus C82 printer using a Netgear PS101 print server. If we print to the printer from an XP/2000 box it prints no problem at all however if we print to it using a Citrix Client, explorer crashes and nothing prints. I have tried changing the driver for all the usual ones but the best I can get is the printer to print in black and white. I get the following error in the event log:-

Event Type: Information
Event Source: Application Popup
Event Category: None
Event ID: 26
Date: 25/02/2003
Time: 10:34:19
User: N/A
Computer: {Server}
Description:
Application popup: Explorer.EXE - Application Error : The instruction at "0x68f0f4fc" referenced memory at "0x00000004". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program

We are using Windows 2000 SP3 (Tried on SP2 as well), and Metaframe XPa SP2/FR2.

Has anyone else had a problem like this? Or does anyone have any suggestions on how I could resolve this issue?

Many Thanks In Advance

Jez.

Is this printer getting auto client created or did you map the printer in the citrix session?

If you are not auto creating the printer, you'd better try that. In the citrix management console add a mapping for that printer using the exact name of the printer driver that the client is using locally to print to that printer. The print server should not interfere for as long as you are not trying to add the printer right on the citrix server.

If you are auto client creating, then the best I can think of is to find an alternate driver. Check out the epson website and perhaps you can e-mail them to find out if this driver is supported on citrix.

Thanks for your reply, I have resolved the issue by using the Epson C80 Series driver. This seems to work and all functions of the printer are performing well.
