I have Windows 2000 and I have been experiencing an persistent problem in which my Epson Stylus C80 printer sometimes dies during a graphics printing job. I will go to print a jpg image from PaintShopPro or MSIE, and it will start out fine, but sometimes about 1/10 to 1/3 the way though the printing job, the printer will suddenly grind to a halt and continue to make high-pitched beeps, then eventually go silent. When this occurs, I also cannot clear or delete the print queue in my systray neither before nor after turning off the printer. The only thing that works here is a complete reboot of the OS. This problem seems to most frequently occur, shortly after having used my flatbed scanner, which is using the second USB port. Last time, I tried turning off the scanner before printing, and relaunching PSP, but that didn't help.
So far, Epson support has been of no help. They are just as baffled as I am.
I have plenty of processing power - 1GHz, and more than enough memory - 256MB, so I don't know what the problem is.
I am using USB interface.
