my epson 8400 wont print says cartridges empty, but I have a new black cartridge..and have told my printer to print in black and whie only

Add the new catridge through the printer tools.

what I should have said is that my cyan cartridge is empty and I want to print in black and white, but my printer wont let me. I really don't want to replace the colored cartirdges, just want to print in black and white

is your "empty cyan cartridge" , in the printer ?

There is a fill level control chip on these cartridges, that when a certain level is reached ALL printing is suspended until you replace that cartridge...

Have a read on how to refill the cartridge and how to reset that chip...

is there anyway to fool the printer into thnking there are filled cartridges so I can print in b&w only?
