Epson printer problem

I am trying to set up an Epson TM-U220B in my kitchen...I have tried this on two identical printers and have the same problem.

When I send the order it gets printed, but it all gets printed on one line and is all jumbled up. A print test does fine and cuts the paper properly. I am perplexed as to why it is doing this.

Myfreepos support said to set the printer to ECS/POS emulation but I can't find anywhere to do this, either on the printer itself or in the web browser when I connect to it. They also told me to set automatic line feed, which I think is on dip switch 1/1, but that doesn't seem to help either. Any help would be greatly appreciated and possibly result in a free burger.
 
The ECR/POS emulation is default on the printer so unless the dips have been changed it should be set already. ECR is "epson mode". You can see this from the print-out on a self test. Are you sure that "MyAintNothinFreePOS" has the printer set as an Epson u200 in the printer setup?

Is this a new printer to the system or is it replacing an existing printer that stopped functioning?
 
These are two identical, but used, printers. I am setting up the system from scratch.
And it is using the proper spooler for the epson.
 
I would guess your used printers do not have the dips set to the factory defaults. I don't recall what the default settings are however you can find that in a manual for the printer. If you can't find the manual online you can get one on "Epson Expert" website. Start with default settings then make adjustments as advised by the software provider.
