We have mostly HP printers, a few zebra printers and one or two cannon printers setup on our server (our exchange 2003 machine is also our print server). All of these are working fine across all of our sites and everything.
Our advertising department has recently added an Epson Stylus Pro 4000 to their assets and it is a network printer and working. The three folks who primairly print to it are on Macs and they are all setup and going. We have two or three Windows users who need to print to this and I would very much like to setup a network print queue with restricted permissions and not set it up on each local computer.
Here is the thing though, when I goto Epson's website I don't find a Windows 2003 driver. When I use the CD to install just the print driver I get an epson monitoring agent on my computer that it wants to always run even when I'm not printing. I shared this on my local machine and mapped from a test machine and the monitoring agent looks to install as part of the driver.
What do ya'll think - safe to set this driver up on my server?
