Epson c40. LPT:1 missing from "print to following port"

Hope you can help with this! Installed the printer/drivers for the printer, and it says its printing, but nothing happens. I checked it out, and LPT:1 is not in the list anymore. I also used my USB lead, and it's there in the system manager list, but again, nothing prints tho' it says it is. USB is also missing from "print to following port". Any advice would be appreciated. Andrea
