I just bought an Epson 2200 on eBay, and am trying to evaluate and adjust its performance. I am disappointed with the quality of the output which, so far, semms to lack sharpness. I cleaned and aligned the print head before using the printer, and the photos support Print Image Matching. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am also posting this on the General Printer Discussion forum.

Is the paper you're using certified for your printer?

Example: the paper could be Kodak brand and supported by Epson for your printer or some other brand that is not supported because it produces bad results.

If you're using Epson supported paper, are your printer properties set to the settings required for that paper?
(good paper usually comes with instructions for setting printer properties)

I am using Epson glossy photo 4X6, and I am using the settings for that paper in the printer driver. That includes the paper's profile (ICM?).

Hmmm If you are certain your image came from a Digital Camera that supports PIM, you should be printing great looking pics with that printer (wish I had one).

Maybe someone else can offer a suggestion.

Have you tried the Epson site?

.ICM? Image Color Management
ICM? Image Color Matching

Much Luck

They don't seem to have email support. It looks like you can use the phone or snail mail. Neither sound like they would be helpful.
