I own an Epson Perfection Photo 1250 scanner and have lost the ability to
use the scanner due to the message “please install the supported Twain
driver” this comes up when attempting to use the Epson software “Smart
panel” and in other applications such as Adobe’s Photoshop the scanner
does
not appear under the “import” menu, I have tried every single suggestion
from the Epson support line with no luck whatsoever, I have started in safe
mode, uninstalled the Epson twain driver and another folder from within
windows/twain-32 called epfb5 as instructions from scansoft’s web
help then reloaded the latest drivers from Epson and also the latest twunk
and twain files also.I have also uninstalled all Epson scanner software and
then did a registry clean up then reinstalled all relevant software, and
yes I was careful about having the scanners USB plug removed until the
software was installed one last thing I was asked to check for the
msblaster worm as this may cause these symptoms, and no my system Windows
