EPS problem in Acrobat 5 for Mac

I use Acrobat 5 on Mac OS9.1.
When I convert a PDF into an EPS and import that EPS as an image into Quark Xpress 4, the page it is on will not print (although it can be re-PDFd).
When I receive EPS files from other people, I do not have this problem, so I think it must be due to one of the settings I choose when making the EPS.
Any ideas?

You might try opening the eps in Illustrator or another vector app and make sure that any text is changed to outlines.
