I converted a document from Quark to InDesign. I cannot get all my graphics to print, I think it is just EPS files from Illustrator. I checked the "non-print" attribute and it isn't checked. My links are fine and connected. I tried packaging it. I checked my print settings (both graphics and advanced settings are fine).

Now, if I place the exact same image in a brand new box, it'll print. However my document is many pages with many graphics and this will take me forever to go throuh this process.

Any other suggestions out there? I've been researching and researching to no avail... please help.

Make sure when checking Attributes to see that a graphic is set to print, that you check the graphic with the Direct Selection (hollow) tool and the frame using the Selection (solid) tool.

......make sure that the original application file is closed, and to ensure that all links are maintained, copy all linked files to the same folder that the QuarkXPress document is in...

...out of interest have you tried simply moving your links to another location and then launching the indesign document in question to update the links back in?

... is exporting to pdf giving the same results?

Yes, exporting did the same exact thing. My links are most certainly linked properly.

I tried the hollow arrow tool and that worked! I didn't think to try both arrow tools, I thought it was kinda silly that they set that up that way.

Thanks for all your help!

Well, the Direct Selection (hollow) tool is for selecting content of a frame (the graphic in this instance)...much like the Hand tool in Quark. The Selection tool (solid) is for selecting the frame itself...like the pointer tool in Quark.

When files are translated from Quark weird things can happen (like with any translation it's not perfect). Sometimes either the frame itself comes through as non-printing or the content of the frame...the graphic. I haven't found rhyme or reason, but I always check.

If you go to the Preview mode (at the bottom of the Tool bar) you can see everything that will print...everything else is turned off...comes in handy!
