Whenever I place an EPS file in Pagemaker 6.5 for the PC, it shows up like it has the measles and prints out that way as well. Whenever I place a TIFF file it comes up blurry on my screen but prints beautifully. I mainly use Photoshop 6.0 to make my art files. What am I doing wrong?

When you use .eps files you will generally create a 72 dpi tif previewer. It this .tif file you see when you place it into your pagemaker 6.5 document. To print an .eps file properly you must send it to an .eps printer. If you send it to a regular printer you only print out the .tif previewer.

You can print these graphics properly by either, as I mentioned above, sending them to an eps printer or creating a pdf file and then printing them.

Hope this helps.

go to prefferences under the file menu.
Then select high res for the graphic.
This should take care of the monitor problems.
p.s.
It does use ram so be prepared to use some.

annette..

When using EPS graphics.. they will print out poorly on anything except for a PS Printer. If you do not have a PS printer, then use TIFFs at 300 DPI resolution, if your doc is intended for print. 111011's idea of creating a PDF from the EPS is also another good workaround... but including PDF graphics inside a PM doc can cause file bloat. There is always a trade-off. When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.
