Hi,

I know Enterprise is a web solution, with limited functionality on a non IIS server. But if you install on a non web server, can you still get some desktop delivery solution? Like Seagate Info?

Thanks,

Hanch

Hanch,

The only thing installed on the web server is the web connector to connect it to the WCS. CE is compatible with IIS, Apache, iPlanet, and several others. It was designed to work with any CGI compliant web server, not specifically IIS.

I have installed it for clients using IIS, iPlanet, and apache with no problems.

I guess the question was, can you get something out of Ce without using a webserver at all?
Er, no.
It's a web-based report delivery system. Better get that IIS book out. Or the iPlanet book, or whatever.

Thanks a lot for your responses, chaps.

However, I was under the impression that CE was only compatible with anything other than IIS with 8.5.

I should have made clear that I'm talking about 8.0 Standard. Is that Apache compliant?

Cheers again,
Hanch

The only differences between CE Std and CE Pro are the users and the one-box configuration. There are no real users in CE Std except for the guest and admin accounts and you cannot break out the components.

Either way, it is still compatible with web servers in the platforms.txt file.
