EPO - "reporting engine failed to initialize"

My EPO server cannot view EPO reports, I can query the database with no issues. The error i receive when trying to run reports is

"reporting engine failed to initialize"
the reporting engine could not be logged on to the database ePO_EPO on EPO
the error was "ERROR IN FILE SQL server error"

using MSDE can view queries
established ODBC connection successfully

You need to create a System DSN on the console machine that points to the database server.

Thanx Jenny ! having similar probs so i'll hope it'll work.
for the lazy ones ... just create a system dsn to connect to the database server. name it epo_<servername> and it'll go.
