Hi,

I am using ePO 2,5,1 and testing ePO 3,0, and am with the same doubt for
both... To effect the installation of agent of the console, the remote
administration has that to be enable in all the machines? what about
machines XP and 2000? How to make to create the NullSessionShares? It
serves for this? how I make?

thank´s

You only need to enable remote administrator on Windows 9x machines. This is only required IF YOU'RE PUSHING THE AGENTS to these OSes. It's not required for NT, 2000 and XP.

You don't need Null Session Shares unless you're hosting the local updates on a server and 9x machines are going to access this.

What about 2k/nt/xp machines that are not logged on - will they still update?? (ie servers that are left logged out)?? ChrisCW

Remember, you'll only use NullSession shares IF you're hosting the updates on a shared folder. I personally would recommend you run an FTP server (IIS is okay). This way you won't need to use NullSession shares. You can also control the security with FTP.

BTW, your original question IIRC was were nullsession shares required with the installation of the ePO agents. IT IS NOT. This will only be applicable in the scenario I previously mentioned.
