I was getting some "cannot get language from plugin area" and "cannot get uninstall command from plugin area" messages in the Agent log. I couldn't work out where the plugin area was.
Basically, it's in this part of the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Network Associates\ePolicy Orchestrator\Application Plugins
In the sub folder, VIRUSSCAN7000, there are held lots of values, of which 'language' and 'uninstall command' are two. These values were missing on the machines where I had the errors. I imported that part of the registry from a working PC, made sure the DATVersion and EngineVersion values were correct, and stopped/ restarted the Framework service. The problem was solved.
