Please help!!
We have recently had ePO installed on our server.
This has then farmed out netshield to the other servers and virusscan to quite a few desktops.

Recently, i have noticed that the agent installation is not working and the machines are not detected in the ePO console.

To test we tried to map a drive to the shared folder (succesfull) but when we tried to run the install file we received the follwing message...

"ePO agent installer failed to impersonate as system administrator and the current logon user is not a local administrator. Please contact your ePO administrator for troubleshooting."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi

Looks like you have choosen a account in ePO that has no local admin rights on the desktops.

What OS are you failing desktops running?

It was noticed on Win2K but the 98 machines (which are slowly being removed from the network) are not appearing in the ePO console.

Thanks

Ok

You need to add file sharing on both W2K and the Win9x machines to be able to do a push install from ePO.

I have checked a W2K machine it has file and print sharing switched on in the network properties.
The epo2.nai is on the C:\ root if that is any help.

I have tried deleting this file and rerunnng the batch file which contains the install commands. The .nai file returns no installation takes place

Thanks

If you do a manual install using the poaginst.exe on the local machine, logged in as a user with no local admin rights, would that work?
If not then the account used when installed ePO has no local admin rights on the machines that fails.

Check local or domain account that has rights. Add that account to the poaginst.exe filed created in ePO and try again.

Cheers
