After I install ePO agent on a PC running Windows 2000 and open status monitor I try to enforce new policies this is what happens.

Agent Subsystem 2/11/2004 12:25:50 PM Info Next policy enforcement in 5 minutes
Agent Subsystem 2/11/2004 12:25:50 PM Info Agent finished Enforcing policies
Management 2/11/2004 12:25:50 PM Info Enforcing Policies for ePolicy Orchestrator Agent
Management 2/11/2004 12:25:50 PM Info Enforcing Policies for EPOAGENT3000
Management 2/11/2004 12:25:50 PM Info Enforcing Policies for EPOAGENT3000META
Management 2/11/2004 12:25:50 PM Info Enforcing Policies for VIRUSCAN7000
Management 2/11/2004 12:25:50 PM Info Compiling policies
Agent Subsystem 2/11/2004 12:25:50 PM Info Agent Started Enforcing policies
Agent Monitor 2/11/2004 12:25:50 PM Detail Enforcing policies
Agent Monitor 2/11/2004 12:25:37 PM Info Agent service is running

And then the ePO icon in systray closes.

In the ePo console do you have the Show Agent Tray Icon box checked? It almost sounds like the policies are being enforced OK and that not displaying the icon is selected.

Is this on the local PC or is it something that the Network Administrator would be able to change?

It would be a setting that would be changed through the ePo console. Whoever administers your AV should be able to change it.

If you manage the ePo console you can easily check under the Policies for the Directory or any Site you may have created. Look under Policies\ePolicy Orchestrator Agent and expand it to see Configuration.
