Hi All,

I am presently evaluating ePolicy Orchestrator 2.5 on our network and when I tried making changes to AutoUpgrade on VirusScan 4.5.1 SP1 to point to my engine update files, I am finding that it isn't able to connect.

I have entered in the user account to connect my PC to the network share storing the data files and it works fine locally on the box. When I issue the same modifications through ePO, I am having some weird problems. In one case, I am finding that the domain\username is replaced with /domain\username each time. In another case, the domain\username information is entered correctly, but it is still not able to connect to the site properly.

I read something about NullSessions but that is not an option. It does mention to change the username and domain information, which is what I did and I am still not having any luck. Am I missing a patch, hotfix, etc that would fix this problem?

Any suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance!

Edward

If this is too much of a problem, contact your sales person or technical support and ask for the hotfix on this (don't recall the exact number). Just describe the problem and they should be able to sort it out.

Also, make sure that the directory is:
1. shared
2. use an account/password to access the share
3. the account has local admin rights to the machine (at least)
4. try if you can connect to the share manually. If you can connect to it, it should work.

Hope this helps.

McAfee VirusScan 4.5.1 SP1
McAfee VirusScan 4.5.1 Hotfix 21
The AutoUpgrade adds a forward slash after the path.

This Hotfix replaces the file MCUPDATE.EXE with a newer version that does not place a forward slash (/) in front of the Domain/User information on the client.

contact support to get the file.
