Hi,

This might sound like a stupid question, but I am trying to change some environmental variables in ksh. (For example changing timezone to GB-Eire from US/Central). The command I have entered is TZ=:GB-Eire.

This command seems to work, however, when I log out and back in, the env variable has changed back to US/Central. How do I get the variable to stay at GB-Eire? (NB I have the same proble with other variables, not just this one)

Thanks

use "smitty chtz_date" to change the time zone permannently.

You have to put it in /etc/environment file

Hope it helps you !

hi,
it is recommended to reboot your server when you change your timezone , so that apllications that run on your server know about the change .
