Environment variable REMOTE_USER is blank

Hi!

How shall I configure httpd to make it fill in the REMOTE_USER variable. I want to know which user is logged on to the (NT) domain. I don't want to do any authentication with httpd.

I think you are pretty much out of luck. The only way httpd can know the remote user is by authentication. Click on the link to see if this answers your question a little more clearly. If you have regular users, you can use a script to let you know when one of them are online. Other than that, you will have to get the info from you access logs and that will only give you their IP address. You might find some good scripts at . Sorry I wasn't much help.
