hi,
the envd cmd on HP is used to check temp on Series 800. is there a similar command on AIX

I am starting to think that some large corporation has migrated to AIX from HP. You guys need to have a staff meeting. Send the following link out in a memo to the IT dept.

IBM Certified -- AIX 4.3 Administration
IBM Certified -- AIX 4.3 Support
IBM Certifiable!

But the rosetta stone doesn't have envd listed on it!

Anyway, niks_m, try /usr/lpp/diagnostics/bin/uesensor -l. Is that what you are looking for? There is another command similar to that for reading the environment for SSA drawers.

But AIX also has errpt, which logs hardware and software errors. I have a script that is kicked off with every system boot that will email me a message when a new error report is detected. (I got the script from someone in the forum.) Check the man page for errpt and see if that is what you need.

Yego = ding-dong
export Yego

Hehehe. IBM Certified -- AIX 4.3 Administration
IBM Certified -- AIX 4.3 Support
IBM Certifiable!
