Hi!

I am using set tk_strictMotif 1 to avoid having highlight problems when clicking on buttons etc. My problem is that when I select the text inside an entry it is highlighted in black. I have tried all the options in entry without luck.

So 1) How can I set the color black to something else?
or 2) How can I disable or make the selection invisible?

Many thanks!

.e configure -selectbackground red

where ".e" is my entry, works for me.

You are right Bong, this works for me too don't know why this did not work before..

What about for the entry in tk_chooseDirectory there is no selectbackground option..

Thanks!

I'm not sure, but what if you use the -parent option and put the dialog in a window whose attributes you have already set with tk_setPalette?

Bong, I don't understand this can you pls give an example?

Well, after I wrote that, I did a little experiment (yes, after. I know that's the wrong order but...) and I don't know how -parent works. According to the help file for tk_chooseDirectory:
-parent window
Makes window the logical parent of the dialog. The dialog is displayed on top of its parent window.
When I tried it, the dialog still popped up it's own window. So, my idea doesn't work. Sorry.
