Morning All
I have been tasked to implement an automated tendering system that sits on top of an Access Database. In order to get things moving I have to populate the tendering database from our existing Oracle 8 Database (Assemblies, Components, Suppliers etc).
I have a model of the Oracle Database that was supplied with our ERP system, however the new tendering system didnt come with one, and getting the support I need from the supplier is needless to say time consuming. I am looking for some uttility or program that will create a graphical representation of the Database and its links (Entity Relationship Drawing, as I am reliably informed).
The Database has 87 tables, and one thing that might cause a problem is that some (not all) of the fields that appear in different tables have dieferent names i.e. DetailID = ItemRef in another table.
Anyone have any ideas??

A couple of options that you could look at are:

Visio
Diagramming capability within SQL Server

In both cases, you might want to load the existing Oracle schematic into the tool and let it default to producing the drawing(s). After this, you might want to massage it manually.

I'm sure that there are lots of other options; possibly even within Oracle itself.

Good luck,
Steve
