Hello

Could anybody point me in the right direction to obtain a definitive answer to this question?

I am looking to move our companies SQL environment from single servers into an EVA (blade) environment.

This would comprise of 4 servers each with 4Gb RAM and 2 processors

One of these servers would act as the server for SQL and one of the servers as reserve (clustered)

What version of SQL server should we be looking at?
If I decided not to cluster what version of SQL server should we be looking at?

Thanks

If you set up a cluster you must use SQL SErver Enterprise Edition. (or datacenter but that would be over kill)

If you want SQL 2000 clustering requires enterprise.

In order to see over 2 Gigs of RAM you also need Enterprise.

If you want SQL 2005 standard edition supports a two node cluster and up to 4 Gigs of RAM.

Thanks for your help

I'm starting to look into 2005 now

The MS web site suggests that RAM is 'Operating System Maximum'
Does this when Standard edition could run in an environment with over 4GB?
