Has anyone tried using SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Manager to work with a remote SQL Server 7 database? Is it backwards compatible?

Hi

Yes, you can access a sql server 7 database in sql 2000 Enterprise Manager but not the other way around. You won't be able to access a sql 2000 database in sql 7 Enterprise Manager.

Hope this helps

John

If you are going to install 2000 client tools its probably worth keeping the SQL7 Books On Line

Yes you can, I am using SQL2K Enterprise Manager connected with SQL7 and SQL2K servers. Working Great....
