has anyone sucessfully deployed ent and ops on a virtual server, in particular vmware?

i'm trying to but having difficulty at the point of licensing during setup.

Says enteprise manager component has an invalid license. The setup will now abort.

just prior to this it said that the license file had succesfully completed download.

any help with this is appreciated.

hi there

Yes i have a customer where we successfully installed Ent Man on a virtual server, no problem.
We had VWWare and in particular used the vsx server?

So has the setup fully finished before that warning comes up?

no, warning comes up directly after u enter the app id. This is like right in the beginning.

I have a call logged with 3rd line but I thought to ask here too. Such a great source of info Tek-tips!

I had a similar problem with a Non-Virtual server with Dual NICs enabled.

Is it possible the Virtual server has access to more than 1 NIC?

If so the license will only activate against the MAC that was used to register.

will have to check if it has dual nics. maybe this is the issue.

thanks
