I am doing some investigation as to whether all graph types are available in SAS EG so analysts dont have to rely on us programmers to create all of their graphs. One type the analysts sometimes use is a stacked bar graph with a line graph on the same chart - I see a basic bar graph with line as a choice but is there a way to do the stacked bar graph with line? Any info about EG is appreciated

Hmmmm. Graphs.
There is no simple method for producing a Stacked bar chart with a line that I'm aware of currently.

Version 9.2 of SAS, with the updated version of SAS/EG will probably add that functionality (looks like it's alot easier to combined graphs in 9.2 thanks to a couple of new procedures)

The general method for doing something like that involves using Proc GREPLAY, which is not something you would usually expect analysts to get to grips with. Essentially it means writing the stacked bar chart, then doing a line chart, then replaying them both out on the same axes.

Just had a play, it looks like there's now a "SUBGROUP=" option in Proc GBARLINE, however it's not available in 9.1, only 9.2.

A little frustrating, but who knows, you may be able to use it as leverage to get yourselves upgraded to 9.2 a bit quicker... :)

Thanks! - this is exactly what I needed to know and confirms what I was finding.
