Enterprise fields Vs Regular Fields 1

Hi,
I understand that information kept in Enterprise Fields are stored in the enterprise global template but wonder what the significance is for the regular fields. Why should I pick a regular field?

Pick a regular field if the information content is unique to your project; pick an Enterprise field if your PMO has instructed the PMs to track this information across all projects.
