Entering text driving me crazy

I have set something when entering text that I can't fix. In FW MX when entering text I click on the canvas and the text is entered vertically, top to bottom vs. horizontally left to right. In order to adjust the text to horizontal I have to drag the text box to the right.
Any help will be truly appreciated.
