Entering Printer Control Codes in VI

This is something I have never had to do in the past but now can't figure out how to do it. I have searched many reference files for info and have come up blank.

I need to create a file of printer control codes to then send to the printer for papaer path changes. The question is: How do I enter control codes in vi??

The specific codes are: 027 025 048 (Yes, 048 is ACSII Zero)

Press (in insert mode) Ctrl-V and then the key you want. For example to insert an escape character type: Ctrl-V ESC
