We are struggling to recreate in 6i something we did routinely in 6.0, that is to have a text item with an associated LOV for entering a lookup. We don't want to display the foreign key, just the description.

We have managed to achieve this with Poplists and Text Lists using the show meaning attribute but pop lists are not practical for some of our bigger lookups with thousands of entries.

Any advice/tips gratefully received.

Thanks!

Patrick

What is your specifc problem? I had no problems with it ...
The only condition - you have to display UNIQUE combination of fields because otherwise user can not distinguish records. It means you can not display description only if it's not unique.

We've now been able to resolve our problem. We had include the table usage (just as you do in 6.0) as well as the list of values component.

Thanks for your time.

Patrick.
