You know how:

Code:
=A1+B1[code][/color]

differs from:

[COLOR=blue][code]=A1+$B$1?[code][/color]

I would like to know is there a shortcut key to produce the "$B$1", or do you simply have to type "$" every time?

Thank you for your help.

Mike

Hi. When you are in the cell that you want to make absolute if you press the F4 key this will automatically put in the dollar signs for you.

You may have also found, that by pressing F4 repeatedly while editing the cell, will cycle the references, which is handy when you wish to fix the row but no the column, etc.
