Enter key not working

Help, my enter keys do not work. It happened in the beginning of Feb. I have Win2000 with a dual boot, Win2000 and Win98. The thing about it is that the enter keys work in Win98. On searching for answers, someone said something about the Windows security updates 828028 and above. I am at a loss to find out why this is happening. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!!!! Since they work in 98 and not in 2000 you should try the windows 2000 forum for answers.

Do you find that it stops working after you exit Internet Explorer? Some other people have experienced this problem and, for some reason, their enter key works upon reboot, and stops working after exiting IE.

They found out that there was some spyware installed that hijacked the Enter key functionality. Uninstalling the spyware and rebooting solved the issue. If you have Kazaa or Real Player installed then those things come with spyware, in particular NewDotNet. I would recommend periodically cleaning out spyware with a utility. I use Spybot Search and Destroy.
