I am trying to setup e-mail sever in my lab but .NET Ent. Server will not relay the e-mails.

I have no Internet connection and no domains setup that I am aware of.

The server will see the e-mails from my WIN 2000 PC but it will not send them back or if I send, an e-mail from the server to the WIN 2000 PC the server will see the e-mail but still not forward them?

I can use a protocol analyzer and see that the server is getting the e-mails and SMTP says scheduling them for delivery but they are never sent.

I followed the help instructions but can't seem to find the answer.

Very new to the server end of things, anyone know of tips that could help me setup my lab to send e-mails.

Thanks

Where are the emails being sent to, another mail account on the same server? Is the server able to resolve the domain name correctly?

You might check the SMTP logs if you haven't already done so, they're at Winnt/system32/log files/SMTPxxxx or something close to that.

Hi,

I got almost the same problem.

I am trying to send a test message to a valid e-mail address that is not on this domain via Internet.

I followed the steps at the web site:(
SMTP Service says that
"250 2.6.0 <20040123215104.3CA4069F.F79EA120@10.0.0.1> Queued mail for delivery"

But it does not send the e-mail to the recipient address. It stays in the Inetpub\mailroot\Queue folder.

Any help is appreciated to solve this...
