Macs traditionally used Appletalk for file sharing, but now use TCP/IP and SAMBA. PCs traditionally and currently use SMB for filesharing. If you have just one Mac and lots of PCs, DAVE by Thursby may help. If you have lots of Macs, learning SAMBA so they can do SMB will be worthwhile.
