I want to know how can I enhance a wav file that is in the standard format that Avaya uses (8khz, mono, 64kbps) for record wav files into the PBX with VAL or trough ftp.

I've noticed that when we perform the recordings through the phone the quality is much better that when we convert from another format like PCM with the sound recorder that windows has.

Is there any way that I can enhance the quality maintaining the same format (sample rate, bit rate)?
thanks in advance.

You need to save the wav file in either CCITT A-Law or u-Law (try both, I can't remember which one you should use)from within sound recorder.

If you upload it to the VAL board from your pc using FTP you need to change to binary mode first or the sound will be corrupted.
