how do I know if I am running an enhancement pack version on Groupwise? Thanks

cls - here you go:

There are three main areas of GroupWise to look for the 5.5 Enhancement Pack version:
1. The GroupWise Administrator Snapin
2. The GroupWise Agents and Gateways
3. The GroupWise Client

The Administrator Snapin, the Client and the NT Agents show the version in a four digit format, and the NLM modules show the version in a three digit format that ends with the letter "e" as shown below:

GroupWise 5.5 Enhancement Pack shipping CD:
Snapin, Client, NT Agents 5.5.2.1
NLM Agents and Gateways: 5.52e

Support Pack 1:
Snapin, Client, NT Agents 5.5.3.1
NLM Agents and Gateways: 5.53e

Support Pack 2:
Snapin, Client, NT Agents 5.5.4.1
NLM Agents and Gateways: 5.54e

Support Pack 3:
Snapin, Client, NT Agents 5.5.5.1
NLM Agents and Gateways: 5.55e

The GroupWise Administrator Snapin version is determined by running Nwadmn32 and clicking on Tools | GroupWise Utilities | About GroupWise Administrator. A dialog box comes up showing:
Novell GroupWise Administrator
Version 5.5.x.1
(Note: This dialog box also shows "Domain Version: 5.5.0" This is not related to the Snapin version. It shows 5.5.0 for all versions of GroupWise 5.5 and GroupWise 5.5 Enhancement Pack.)

The GroupWise Agent and Gateway NLM version is determined by typing MODULES GW* at the server console. This command lists the GroupWise modules such as GWPOA.NLM and GWIA.NLM and shows their
version as 5.5xe

The GroupWise Client version is determined by running the GroupWise Client and clicking on Help | About GroupWise. The dialog box shows Program Release 5.5.x.1. An exception to this is if the Padlock fix is
applied, which only applies to GW 5.5 EP SP2 or SP3.
For GW 5.5 EP SP2 with the Padlock fix the Client shows 5.5.4.2.
For GW 5.5 EP SP3 with the Padlock fix the Client shows 5.5.5.2.

The NT Agent version is also determined by clicking on Help | About GroupWise. The dialog box shows Program Release 5.5.x.x.

To determine if you have the English or the Multilingual GroupWise 5.5 Enhancement Pack, look in the root of your GroupWise 5.5 EP CD or your GroupWise 5.5 EP Software Distribution Directory.

The English CD has only one Readme file named: ReadmeUS.txt
The Multilingual CD has five Readme files names:
ReadMeBR.Txt
ReadMeDE.Txt
ReadMeES.Txt
ReadMeFR.Txt
ReadMeUS.Txt

If your GroupWise 5.5 EP Software Distribution Directory doesn't have any Readme files for some reason, look in your <5.5 EP Software Distribution Directory>\AGENTS\NLM\LANGUAGE directory. You have the
English code set if this contains only the US files. You have the Multilingual code set if this contains all five language files.

Cheers,

Mark ;-)

Is it true that Windows 2000 only works with the enhancement pack version, or will it work with the regular version of Groupwise as well? (We're running GW 5.5.4)

Groupwise 5.5.4 works fine with Windows 2000. You'll need the correct version of Messaging though.
