HELP.

I have a VB6 SP5 program with a successful Wise for Windows installation.

Today I upgraded to VB6 SP6, and when I rebuild and install my Wise installation on another computer, it installs successfully, but when I START the program, it goes into a loop trying to start the installation program again.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Many thanks.

Doug

If it was easy, everybody would do it.

Look in the eventvwr. When you program starts, windows installer will check to see if all key-components are in place. If an msi fails to find a component, it will specify it in the eventviewer.

Next step, case you couldnt find anything, could be using filemon or regmon from Sysinternals. Great programs when it comes to trouble shooting.

How do I lookup EvenVwr?

I DID resolve this simply by rebuilding this installation from scratch, but I would like to bug-hunt a little on it in case I run into it another time...

You can start the eventviewer by clicking Start, Run and type in Eventvwr.
Look under Application
